David V. Jean

Principal
David Jean joined ARB in 1992 and has been a principal for the firm since 2001. He is the Practice Leader for ARB’s Construction Industry Services Group, Succession Planning Services Group, and Business Advisory Services Group. David focuses primarily on financial accounting and consulting for construction, real estate, and manufacturing companies. He also specializes in succession planning and funds control services. David serves as the Director of Altus Exit Strategies, LLC and as Managing Partner of New England Funds Control, LLC, both wholly-owned subsidiaries of ARB.
David’s expertise is respected among New England’s construction community and endorsed nationally through his membership on The Certified Public Accountant Advisory Council, an exclusive, 10-member council formed to serve as the resource team for the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP).
Additionally, David oversees the initiatives of the ARB Marketing Team.

David is a trusted and esteemed construction industry leader. In addition to providing traditional accounting and tax services, David provides specialized services such as overhead burden analyses, operational reviews, and benchmarking analyses. He regularly counsels our construction and real estate clients on industry best practices on matters such as strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, establishing and upgrading job costing systems, cost segregation, profit enhancement, and succession planning. He has written numerous articles and regularly develops and leads seminars on various industry-related tax and financial management issues.
Through his involvement in the manufacturing industry, David keeps manufacturers on the leading edge of industry developments, tax issues, and best practices. He provides specialized accounting, taxation, and consulting resources, while remaining in compliance with regulatory requirements and addressing operational needs.
David serves as the Managing Partner of New England Funds Control, LLC (NEFC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of ARB, specializing in providing disbursement control services to the surety and construction industries on residential, commercial, and government construction projects. NEFC helps facilitate surety bonding by independently matching contract receivables with corresponding contract payables on a project-by-project basis. NEFC acts as the escrow agent for disbursement of all types of lending entities, including banks, mortgage companies, surety companies, and private money lenders.
As a Certified Exit Planner, David serves as the Succession Planning Services Group Practice Leader for ARB. Additionally, he serves as the Director of Altus Exit Strategies, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ARB. Altus Exit Strategies provides exit planning advisory services to business owners. David advises with an understanding of the impact on the financial statements and off balance sheet, the obstacles faced throughout the exiting process, and how to avoid the common errors that lead to potential failures. Using the Seven Exit Planning Steps provided by Altus Exit Strategies, LLC, David creates a company-specific Road Map, helping each business identify objectives, uphold business continuity, plan for personal wealth and estate, navigate the ins-and-outs of buy-sell agreements, and utilize alternative valuation methods.
