Principal

Matt Pore has been practicing public accounting in the Greater Boston region since 2003 and joined ARB in 2018, where he was named principal in 2020. Throughout his career he has developed an acute understanding of tax and business advisory, primarily servicing affluent families and closely held businesses. He has significant experience with M&A transactions and corporate restructuring.

In addition to Matt’s Private Client practice, he has specific niche experience representing breweries, closely held businesses, private clients and family offices, and automotive dealerships. Matt is actively involved with his clients in all aspects related to “Tax,” whether they’re buying or selling their businesses, harvesting tax credits, cash flow planning for estimated tax payments, or restructuring for optimal estate and wealth transfer considerations.

Matt lives in Falmouth, Maine, with his family and enjoys cooking, playing golf, and woodworking.

Matt enjoys providing tax services for closely held corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. Closely held businesses offer unique opportunities for tax planning that can be very beneficial for the business and the shareholders and/or partners. Matt takes a proactive approach to help his clients navigate the dynamics of their business by the most tax efficient means possible.

Matt has extensive experience representing both buyers and sellers in M&A transactions. His technical depth allows him to provide thoughtful and savvy guidance. He is enthusiastic about developing tax efficient strategies and enjoys helping clients navigate complex transactions including sale transactions, reorganizations, and entity restructuring. Matt also has experience with buyer-side due diligence when representing private equity firms and venture funds.

Matt’s Private Client practice consists of affluent families and individuals, closely-held business owners, venture capital and private equity investors. He collaborates with family offices, attorneys, wealth advisors, and insurance specialists to facilitate solutions to complex family tax issues and provides sophisticated tax planning services. Matt takes an active role with the families and helps bridge tax awareness and fiscal responsibility as younger generations become more involved in asset management.

In his automotive accounting practice, Matt consults on all aspects of tax. The automotive industry is inherently transactional and he provides sophisticated guidance on corporate structure, entity reorganization, M&A advisory, debt financing, wealth transfer, tax planning, and annual federal and state compliance. Matt remains active within the industry and frequently attends state dealer association conferences.

Matt is ARB’s Practice Leader of Craft Beverage Services. He has years of experience working with breweries and consults on all aspects of tax. The industry is still growing and each business is unique. Matt is available to help with capex review, cash flow planning, M&A advisory, R&D studies, tax planning, and annual federal and state compliance. He remains active within the industry and has authored several industry specific articles. Matt is also a member of the Brewers Association.
